D1 Capitol Hill Standoff

DATE: Decmber 1, 1999
WHERE: 11th = Pine, Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, WA
VIDEOGRAPHER CREDIT: Jen Domeier

Later in the evening, a march left downtown and, followed by the police, went up into the Capitol Hill neighborhood, where there was an annual Free Mumia march going on. Police fire concussion grenades and tear gas in this neighorhood, affecting residents and trapping people in areas that are not safe for them from these chemical weapons. This provokes the ire of this rather radical neighborhood…a standoff between the residents and police goes on well after midnite.

This clip is much later into the night, after midnite.
